Your favorite type of gimmick match?

posted Apr 10, 2011 15:25:42 by Torgo
I love elimination tag matches. Survivor Series. There are so many good stories that can be told whether it be domination, close matches, betrayals, alliances and so on.

How about you guys?

When I was a kid it was all about the cage, then UFC stole it...bastards

Nowadays I'm a mark for one day tournaments, because its unbeleveable to see guys manage to give it their all in the final. New Japan are just smashing at the 1 day and lengthy tournies.
Poofter eh?

When I was a kid, I loved the Texas Tornado Tag Match but now the concept of all the members in the ring at the same time loses it's appeal when it happens in every single match.

I think now, the Rumble as a singular 'gimmick' match, can't beat it.

Buried Alive.

I mean think about it, someone is actually going to get Buried Alive. The stakes are pretty high.

I can't wait for the WWE Buried Alive PPV in Charlotte, North Carolina this September.

Speaking of Buried Alive ... its an Undertaker staple, right? Has Undertaker ever actually won one of these matches?

He's won about 20?

Edit:

The Undertaker has an impressive 21-4 record in Buried Alive matches including four consecutive victories in four nights against Tyson Tomko in non-TV house show appearances

I assume the TLC match counts as a 'gimmick'? It's just a cluster of a match, it's crazy.

But of all time, the Rumble match. It's fun.

Oh, well, there you go.

Why the hell would Tyson Tomko need to be buried alive four nights in a row?

Anyway, even with his exceptional record the four that he lost were pretty big matches. I CAN only remember the losses. The one against McMahon, Kane, Austin ... and well thats it.

I read that Kane and Alberto Del Rio had a 'Munich Street Fight' during a house show in Germany this week.

Does anyone know how a Munich street fight differs from a standard street Fight?

They were all about some Gulf of Mexico matches and throwing folks into the Long Island Sound for a while there.
